  • Monetary and Fiscal Policy
  • The History of Monetary and Financial Markets and Institutions

My Phd, under the supervision of Pr.Pierre-Cyrille Hautcoeur, is about French monetary policy from World War II to the early 80s. Such a policy was characterized by strong interconnections with an interventionist allocation of credit and by systematic use of quantitative controls. I especially focus on the making of this policy, its impact on the economy, the relationships with the development of the financial system and credit allocation, and on the role of France in the international monetary system (Bretton Woods and the UE). Economic history can shed light on important contemporary issues; notably on the role of financial intermediaries, financial regulation, central banks cooperation and monetary policy effectiveness.

My research interests include economic history, monetary policy, financial markets, and political economy of institutions, as well as the relationships between economics and other social sciences.

I am on the academic job market this fall and will attend the ASSA-AEA meeting in Chicago, 5-8 January 2012.  I will be presenting in 2 sessions.

I am an editor of the french review of social sciences Tracés, a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal which publishes twice a year an issue on a topic that is common to social sciences and humanities and crosses the frontiers between disciplines.

I have been Macro TA in Master APE (Paris School of Economics) for 3 years.

I will be visiting Rutgers University in the Spring 2012.

I co-organize the Phd economic history seminar at PSE.
