François Bourguignon receives an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Liège

François Bourguignon, Director of the Paris School of Economics, was conferred the insignia of Doctor honoris causa, the University’s most prestigious award, by the rector of the University of Liège, Professor Bernard Rentier, on March 26^th 2009. Five other internationally-renowned scientists, from the fields of Science, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Psychology and Education, received Honorary Doctorates on the same occasion. François Bourguignon joins a distinguished list of Economists with honorary doctorates from Liège: Joseph Stiglitz, James Mirrlees, Tony Atkinson, Jacques Dreze and Jean-Jacques Laffont.
