The Conseil régional d’Ile-de-France “Major Research Domains” Workshop

Conseil régional IDF The Conseil Régional of the Ile-de-France is organising a two day workshop devoted to “Major Research Domains” (“Domaines d’intérêt majeur”: DIM) on the 3rd and 4th of March 2009 at the Maison Internationale of the CIUP (in the 14th arrondissement of Paris). These Major Research Domains are those “for which the Ile-de-France already has substantial and internationally-renowned resources at its disposal with respect to teaching, research and innovation, and which should be put to their best advantage by being organised as clusters at the regional level”.

The Paris School of Economics was designated as one of these Major Research Domains in February 2007. In this context, PSE has already launched a number of calls for Doctoral and Post-Doctoral positions financed by the Ile-de-France Region.

François Bourguignon, Director of the Paris School of Economics will speak at this workshop. Philippe Askenazy, Professor at the Paris School of Economics, will participate in a round table consecrated to investment by the Region in learning, and Sebastian Krautheim, who holds a Conseil régional d’Ile-de-France post-Doctoral position at PSE, will talk about the importance of the support the region provides to young researchers.

Pierre-Yves Geoffard, who holds a Chair at the Paris School of Economics, will present the results of a survey on the public perception of research in introducing the workshop.
