November 3, 2016, Pascal Lamy Dinner Debate
The Honorable Anne-Claire Legendre, The Consul General of France and the American Foundation for the Paris School of Economics are glad to welcome on November 3, 2016, Pascal Lamy [EU Trade Commissioner (1999-2004), General Director WTO (2005-2013)]. During this dinner, he will discuss “Europe in Crises”
The dinner will support fellowships at American Universities of PSE students, and will fund an international evaluation of the teaching of economics in French high schools supervised by the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques of the Institut de France

30th November 2010, gala dinner in honor of Jacques de Larosière
November 2010 - The French Consulate on Fifth Avenue in the heart of New York City was the scene of a gala dinner before Christmas in honor of one of the most outstanding financial statesmen in the world, Jacques de Larosière.
Mr de Larosière - Managing Director of the IMF (1978-1987), Governor of the Banque de France (1987-1993), President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and DEvelopment (1993-1998) and Chairman of the High Level Committee on tje Reform of the European Financial Regulatory Structure (2008-2009) - was the guest, Novembrer 30, 2010 of the Consul General Philippe Lalliot and of the AFPSE-Amercian Foundation for the Paris School of Economics.
Notable among the guests of the evening were Paul Volker (who huddled in the entrance of the Consulate with his longtime international colleague and friend), Liz Rohatyn (former Chair of the Board of the New York Public Library, and wife of Ambassador Felix Rohatyn), Craig Stapleton (former U.S. Ambassador to Paris), Diony Lebot and Everett Schenk (the chairs of Société Générale Americas and BNP Paribas North America), John Heimann (former U.S. Comptroller of the Currency), many eminent financiers, and several Columbia University Professors including the Nobel Prize winner Ned Phelps.
Mr. De Larosière delivered the Eugene J. Sheffer Distinguished Lecture under the Rotunda at Columbia University the following day on “The Aftermath of the Financial Crisis : Towards a New Framework for Monetary Policy”. His visit to New York, organized by the American Foundation of the Paris School of Economics and the Maison Française of Columbia, was the first since the adoption by the European Parliament, September 22, of a new financial regulatory structure for the E.U., of which he was the principle architect.
