Researchers

There are two scientific coordinators in charge of the Banque de France Chair:

  • Florin Bilbiie is Associate Professor at PSE and Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, and is also Research Affiliate of the CEPR (London). He has moved to Paris joining the HEC Paris Business School in September 2007 after having held a three-year Prize Research Fellowship at Oxford University (Nuffield College), and a Visiting Fellow position at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA. He obtained his PhD at the European University Institute in Florence in 2004, and received the Rotary Europa Prize for the best thesis defended in the 2003-2007 interval. His primary fields are Macroeconomic Theory, Analysis and Policy and Monetary Economics (Business Cycles and Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium); his secondary are Applied Time Series, Financial Economics.
  • Romain Rancière is Associate Chair at PSE and is affiliated to the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). After a PhD at New York University in 2003, he spent a few years as a researcher (tenure-track) and assistant Professor of Economics at CREI and Univesitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. In 2010, he was a First Runner-up for the prize of Best French Economist under 40 (Le Monde - Cercle des Economistes). His main research fields are International Finance, Economic Growth, Banking.
