Apply to be a visiting scholar programme in macroeconomics at the International Macroeconomics Chair.
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS, FALL 2022 - SPRING 2023
The International Macroeconomics Chair invites applications for the Visiting Scholars Programme in the areas of interest for the chair, i.e. international macroeconomics, fiscal and monetary policy.
Schedule
We invite Visiting Scholars on a biannual basis. Fall 2022 visits will take place between September and December 2022. The deadline for Fall 2022 applications is September 15th, 2022.
Spring 2023 visits will take place between January and June 2023. The deadline for Spring 2023 applications is January 31st, 2023.
On top of the biannual call for applications, an informal rolling admission will also take place based on the applications received.
Duration
Visits usually last one to two weeks, although longer periods are also possible. We expect the Visiting Scholars to stay with the Macro Group at PSE for the duration of their visit, as well as spend one day at Banque de France meeting research economists.
Applicants
We invite scholars from both academia and policy institutions, esp. central banks. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in Economics at the time of applying and be active researchers.
Preference will be given to proposals that have the potential to develop into a long-term collaboration with PSE Macro Group staff.
Funding and accommodation
We reimburse a single round-trip economy class ticket to Paris. We offer a remuneration intended to cover accommodation and food expenses. For visitors who cannot accept remuneration from the International Macroeconomics Chair at PSE, these arrangements are negotiable, for example, we can instead cover the accommodation costs directly.
Relationship with the Macro Group at PSE
We encourage Visiting Scholars to participate fully in the research life of the Macro Group at PSE, for example by attending the research seminars at PSE and other events related to research.
We expect Visiting Scholars to present their own work in a seminar whilst they are visiting the Macro Group at PSE, as well as spending office hours with PSE faculty and PhD students.
Computer facilities and desk space
We provide the Visiting Scholars with office space as well as access to PSE facilities, including libraries and computer resources.
