Esther Duflo and Abhijit Banerjee stayed at PSE from September 2017 as invited professors for one academic year.

Their conferences have been organized as part of the international “Blaise Pascal” Research Chair financed by the Ile-de-France Region, managed by the Foundation at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, and with the support of the AXA Research Fund.

The key moments


Esther Duflo and Abhijit Banerjee first presented their work through two PSE seminars:

  • On October 3, 2017 Abhijit Banerjee participated to the seminar “How important are matching frictions in the labor market? Experimental & non-experimental evidence from India” with Gaurav Chiplunkar.
  • On October 4, 2017 the both economists participated to the seminar “Using gossips to spread information : theory and evidence from a randomized controlled trial” with Arun G. Chandrasekhar and Matthew O. Jackson.
