Call for applications - Thesis scholarships and 4th-year funding
The Labour Economics Chair is a research Chair hosted in PSE - Paris Economic School of Economic, created in partnership with two departments of the French Labour ministry (DARES and DGEFP) and with Pôle-emploi, l’Unédic and the Mairie de Paris. The Chair aims to attract the best potential candidates to strengthen the research in Labour Economics. The researches focus on the employment dynamics, wages and unemployment.
The Labour Economics Chair offers between 1 and 3 PhD 3-years scholarships and 4th year Phd funding starting in September 2019. The number of funding depends on the quality of applications received. The gross monthly salary is about 1900 EUR.
The PhDs selected will have a privileged access to databases of the Chair partners: Labour Ministry (DARES), Pôle emploi and Unedic. On the attractive Jourdan Campus, students will be integrated in PSE community and shall participate in the PSE PhD program and in the Chair events and seminars.
Application Process for Phd scholarships (3 years)
The application have to present a PhD student, a thesis supervisor and a thesis subject.
The candidates must submit their CV, their academic transcript of 1st year of Bachelor degree and 1st and 2nd year of master degree, the summary of their project (in 2 pages), a letter from their supervisor and two references letters.
A particular attention will be paid to the originality of the project, the quality of the data used for their project. An analysis using French databases or other databases including French data will be privileged.
Application for the 4th-year funding
The candidates must submit their CV, an academic transcript of 1st year of Bachelor degree, 1st and 2nd year of master degree, the summary of their project (in 2 pages), a letter of their supervisor and up to two references letters.
The application must sent by email before the 3rd of May 2019 to eric.maurin pse.ens.fr and maya.bacache enst.fr.
The short listed candidates will be invited to present their research projects at the Paris School of Economic, in May. The final selection will be held by a scientific committee of the Labour Chair.
