Le séminaire Paris Migration Economics reçoit Mariapia Mendola | 30 janvier
On Monday 30 January, Mariapia Mendola will present her paper “The Political Response to Refugee Settlement : Cultural and Economic Drivers” (joint with F Campo, S Giunti, M Mendola and G Tura, 2022) at the Paris Migration Economics Seminar (12:30-13:30, room R1.09)
Mariapia is a Professor of Economics at the Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca and director of the Poverty and Development Program at Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano, Research Fellow at IZA and CefES. Her main research areas are in the fields of development economics and migration. She has published several working papers and articles on these topics, which often focus on economic integration of migrants, human capital, culture, diversity and networks. Some of her recent research examines the political responses after refugees arrivals, the rise of right-wing populism and the interaction between migration and innovation.
