La Chaire Macroéconomie internationale a le plaisir de vous inviter au premier colloque « The Macroeconomics of Expectations ».

Using micro-data on households, firms and professional forecasters much recent research has documented significant and heterogeneous departures of expectations from the rational, fully informed benchmark. Other contributions have stressed the consequences of limited information and imperfect expectations for macroeconomic dynamics and the effects of policies.
The Banque de France, Centre for Economic Policy Research and Paris School of Economics Joint Conference aims at bringing together leading researchers from academia, central banks and other policy institutions to present research findings related to the importance of expectations for macroeconomic dynamics and the conduct of macroeconomic policies.
Confirmed keynote speakers are :
- George-Marios Angeletos (Northwestern University)
- Ulrike Malmendier (University of California, Berkeley and CEPR)
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to :
- Macroeconomic consequences of information frictions
- Households / firms expectation formation
- The role of information frictions for monetary policy
- Central bank communication and expectations
- The role of expectations for individual decisions
We invite authors to submit completed papers. Extended abstracts will be also considered but preference will be given to completed papers.
The deadline for submission is Wednesday, March, 25th, 2023. Authors of accepted papers will be informed by April, 15th, 2023. Travel and local accommodation for speakers and discussants from academic institutions will be funded by the Banque de France according to its internal guidelines.
