I'm a PhD candidate in environmental economics at the Paris School of Economics and the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. My thesis is co-supervised by Hélène Ollivier (PSE, CNRS) and Katheline Schubert (PSE, Paris 1).

My research projects focus on the economics of industrial pollution, exploiting both theory and an extensive range of administrative data on French plants as well as satellite datasets.

In my Job Market Paper I analyze the welfare effects of the spatial distribution of pollution from industrial activities and the role of local air quality policies. I show that an optimal policy should target industrial emissions in the largest cities relative to the rest of the country. Using a quantitative spatial model I analyze several counteracting forces and find that it would make these cities even larger and raise workers' welfare.

I also work with co-authors on the impacts of the EU Emission Trading Scheme. We find that this regulation tended to increase sales of regulated firms and reduce CO2 emission intensity. In this paper we also develop a new methodology to estimate direct and indirect effects of the policy when not all firms are regulated but behave strategically.

On August 29th, 2022 at 14:00 o' clock I will defend my thesis Pollution et Politiques Environnementales
