10e édition du Prix du meilleur jeune économiste : Yann Algan et Thomas Philippon lauréats, Gaël Giraud nominé
Pour contribuer au développement de la pensée économique française, « le Cercle des économistes », en partenariat avec « Le Monde Economie », décerne chaque année le Prix du meilleur jeune économiste. Il s’agit de distinguer un économiste de moins de quarante ans qui allie expertise reconnue et participation active au débat public.
Le Prix du meilleur jeune économiste au titre de l’année 2009 a été remis le 25 mai au Sénat à Yann Algan, Professeur à PSE en 2006 et Thomas Philippon, Professeur invité à PSE en 2007, pour leurs différents travaux. Gaël Giraud, Chercheur associé à PSE, a quant à lui été nominé.
Le Prix avait été décerné en 2000 à Bruno Amable (Chercheur associé à PSE), en 2002 à Philippe Martin et Thomas Piketty (Chaires associées à PSE), en 2003 à Pierre-Cyrille Hautcoeur (Professeur associé à PSE), en 2005 à Esther Duflo (Professeur invité à PSE) et en 2006 à Thierry Mayer (Professeur associé à PSE).
