Presentation

Sports entertainment is an ’industry’ with a unique modus operandi: it is the pooling of the production factors of rival entities that generates the service delivered to consumers.

While economists examine from every angle the specificities of the production technology of the sporting spectacle in general - and football in particular - all the social sciences (History, Sociology, Law, Science and Technology of Physical and Sports Activities, etc.) are also studying the various aspects of the production and consumption of this service.

After a first edition in 2018 in Paris and a second edition in 2021 in Clairefontaine, the third edition of the conference will take place at the IUT of Saint Malo on 6 and 7 June 2024.

It will bring together around twenty researchers and sports players to present their most recent work and discuss topics as diverse as television coverage of women’s football, the consequences of the 2024 ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union on the Superleague, Financial Fair Play, fraudulent betting, stadium naming, etc.
