Assistant Professor position: Deadline 5th December 2009

The Paris School of Economics is offering one (1) 3-year Assistant Professor position, starting on October 1st 2010. The position is funded by the Ile-de-France Region and offers salaries in line with the standard of top European universities (36000 Euros gross per year). Tenure may be considered at the end of this contract, depending on available positions at PSE and partner institutions.

All applications will be considered, with special attention to the fields of macro-finance and econometrics. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in an exciting research environment.
They will teach two advanced graduate courses for second year PhD students (48 hours per year in total) on topics close to their research interests. There are no administrative duties.

Selection criteria:
Applicants should have a PhD in Economics either acquired or firmly expected by August 2010 from a major research university. Knowledge of French is not required.

  • a curriculum vitae
  • a short description of current and future research
  • a Job Market Paper and at least one other research paper
  • a cover letter.

Selected applicants will be offered a flyout for an interview and a seminar at Paris School of Economics at the beginning of January. The dates for this invitation will be communicated by December at the latest.
