Even before the project began in September 2020, other researchers, both internal and external to PSE, had shown interest, and indeed participate regularly in the meetings and activities that are described in the next section. This initial team is largely made up of urban economists, both academic and institutionally active. Other fields of economics are also represented, notably economic history. The team also includes researchers in history, sociology or geography, whose approaches differ from those of the economists, but who share common objects or fields of study and methodological tools. Since the beginning of the project, other researchers, as well as doctoral students, have joined the group and participate in meetings on an ad hoc or regular basis, depending on their research interests.
