Governance

Created in December 2006, the Paris School of Economics is a public interest and scientific cooperation foundation dedicated to developing a center of excellence.

The governance of the Paris School of Economics is based on two main decision-making and strategic bodies, the Board of Directors and the Executive Board, with the support of two advisory committees, the Scientific Council and the CLEOR. These bodies contribute to making PSE a global benchmark for economic research and academic excellence.

Board of Directors

Currently chaired by Esther Duflo, the Board is vested with the power to vote the institution’s budget and select scientific programs. It also benefits from the enlightened advice of the Scientific Advisory Board. This strategic body embodies PSE’s vision and general orientations.

The Executive Management

The Executive Management is the decision-making body of PSE, under the authority of the director, Jean-Olivier Hairault, who defines the institution’s strategic agenda. It ensures the daily management of the institution, coordinating efforts to achieve the set objectives.

Scientific Council

The Scientific Council plays a central role in assessing the quality of our teaching and research programs. Composed of eminent members of the international scientific community and chaired by Pascaline Dupas, it pronounces on the relevance and scope of PSE’s academic initiatives. By regularly evaluating the performance of our programs, the Scientific Advisory Board contributes to maintaining the standards of excellence that characterize PSE.

The CLEOR

The CLEOR is a consultative and reflective body. It is consulted by the management on PSE’s educational, scientific, and ethical issues.
