The Globalization Chair supports the organization of the doctoral meeting of the Research in International Economics and Finance (RIEF) network.

The RIEF was created in 2004 in order to strengthen scientific cooperation and contacts between European research centers working on international economics.

The annual doctoral meeting of the RIEF network will be held this year at Aix-en-Provence on March 27-28. It offers the opportunity for 18 PhD students to present their research. Each selected paper will be discussed by an active senior researcher in the field. The two keynote speakers are Banu Demir (University of Oxford) and Monika Mrázová (University of Geneva).

The Globalization Chair aims to create a privileged forum for reflection, exchange and transfer between researchers and all entities of society interested in the reconfiguration of globalization and its implications. The approach favored by the chair is empirical. The research is characterized by the use of advanced econometric techniques and the exploitation of various databases combining data from companies, but also more recent sources from the media, NGOs or the monitoring of container ships.
