Corporate responsibility commitments are becoming more widespread at the same time that globalization, by allowing the international fragmentation of production processes, makes it more difficult to attribute disrespectful practices to specific actors.
Consumers, investors and employees are in favor of companies voluntarily integrating social and environmental responsibility into their internal and external interactions.
Faced with potential reputational shocks, firms adopt different strategies: some join international initiatives promoted by NGOs while others invest unilaterally in green or social ISO certifications or disengage from problematic.
This workshop intends to discuss the reality of those adjustments and their implications.

The Globalization Chair aims to create a privileged forum for reflection, exchange and transfer between researchers and all entities of society interested in the reconfiguration of globalization and its implications. The approach favored by the chair is empirical. The research is characterized by the use of advanced econometric techniques and the exploitation of various databases combining data from companies, but also more recent sources from the media, NGOs or the monitoring of container ships.
