Maritime transport remains the backbone of international trade. As supply chains adapt to evolving economic, environmental, and geopolitical pressures, a deeper understanding of the structure and dynamics of shipping networks is essential. Recent advancements in data availability and analytical methodologies have opened new avenues for studying maritime trade, its interactions with key stakeholders – including ports, transport authorities, and exporters – and its broader implications for globalization and economic policy.
To advance scholarly research on these themes, the Globalization Chair is pleased to announce the third Globalization, Shipping, and Trade Workshop, at the Paris School of Economics on October 16, 2025.
Accommodation and travel will be provided to accepted speakers.
Submissions are accepted until midnight on June 30, 2025, via: workshop.shipping@psemail.eu
Submissions of full papers (including draft versions) are preferred. Each paper will be assigned a discussant. Notifications to selected participants will be sent by July 15, 2025.

Scientific Committee:
The Globalization Chair aims to create a privileged forum for reflection, exchange and transfer between researchers and all entities of society interested in the reconfiguration of globalization and its implications. The approach favored by the chair is empirical. The research is characterized by the use of advanced econometric techniques and the exploitation of various databases combining data from companies, but also more recent sources from the media, NGOs or the monitoring of container ships.
