The Paris School of Economics is organising a session on Friday, April 7, on the theme: “Women and science: going beyond gender stereotypes”

Women are largely under-represented in scientific careers. Why is it important to attract women to these careers? How are gender stereotypes constructed and disseminated, in France and abroad? What link can be made with societal inequalities? These are just some of the questions that will be addressed during this session, which will also include a discussion of possible solutions. The role of ‘models’ in deconstructing these stereotypes and the influence of institutions will be discussed, using the example of the division and then reunification of Germany.
