Quels apports de l’évaluation et de la recherche en économie aux politiques publiques de sécurité intérieure et de justice ?
Hourly –
Opening up administrative data relating to internal security and justice opens up whole areas of research to be carried out. Above all, it makes it much easier to evaluate public policies, in response to society’s growing demand for transparency and accountability.
However, the opening up of data is not enough in itself to create the conditions for fruitful collaboration between researchers, government departments, the media, civil society and political decision-makers, likely to fuel a high-quality public debate.
What are the needs of stakeholders in terms of evaluation and research? What recent work, in France or abroad, has provided a fresh perspective on public policy and helped to modify it to make it more effective? What methods can be deployed to bring rigour and credibility to these assessments? Under what conditions and over what timescale can these evaluations be of real use to decision-makers?
These are the many complex questions that the Institut des Politiques Publiques wishes to address by bringing together researchers, institutions and associations specialising in internal security and justice for this first conference.
