As part of the Development Methodologies Chair headed by Esther Duflo and Abhijit Banerjee, J-PAL Europe offers Summer Schools. These are aimed at political decision-makers, researchers from the African continent wishing to integrate impact assessment methods into their research work, and project leaders wishing to assess the impact of their solution. Three editions have already taken place to date: the first online in 2021, the second at ENSEA in Abidjan in 2022, and the third at Mohammed VI Polytechnique University in Rabat in 2023.
In addition, the J-PAL has developed, in conjunction with the Laboratoire de l’emploi au Maroc(Monitoring evaluation and learning – J-PAL MENA), an online training course on how to “Evaluate social programs”, the aim of which is to familiarize learners with the concepts and methods of impact evaluation.
