International Macroeconomics Chair : The 2023-2024 activity report is now available

The 2023-2024 academic year finally saw the long-awaited drop in inflation rates from their double-digit peaks, while persistently low unemployment fed hopes of a soft landing. At the same time, long-term challenges for advanced economies remain: the advent of artificial intelligence, shrinking budgetary leeway and high public debt in the face of growing fiscal needs for defense, an aging population and, of course, climate change. As always, the chair’s activities were shaped by this macroeconomic context throughout the year.
