The Economic Impact of International Migration in Tunisia
Journal article: In this article, we study the economic impact of international migration in Tunisia over the period 1970–2017. In line with data statistical properties, the estimation of vector autoregression (VAR) models shows that an exogenous change in the net migration rate has a positive and significant effect on national production per capita, whereas its effect on employment rate is not significant. The migration shock has a positive and significant effect on productivity and does not reduce the average employee compensation.
