For a successful Energy Transition Chair: New policy brief by Youssef Salib

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) and the AXA Research Fund have joined forces with PSE to create the Successful Energy Transition Chair.
The Chair For a Successful Energy Transition has three main objectives:
Climate policies will probably have to consider instruments other than carbon taxation. Without a carbon price, or with one that is too low, which sectors should investments be directed towards? How, in turn, will these investments interact with the more conventional climate policies already in place? Finally, what kind of tools should be put in place to reconcile efficiency and social support?
To answer these questions, the Chair’s work will combine theoretical analyses of mechanisms, simulations and empirical analyses based on historical data. Surveys and experiments will be carried out to gain a better understanding of people’s preferences and behaviours with regard to the types of instruments that can be envisaged, and their link to the construction of trust in institutions.
The Chair’s program includes a number of activities:
PSE Professor and For a Successful Energy Transition Chair holder
PSE Chaired professor and Opening Economics Chair holder
PSE Emeritus Professor and For a Successful Energy Transition Chair holder
Global Head of Communications, CSR and ESG Development at AXA Investment Managers
