APE - Analysis and Policy in Economics
The APE Masters program offers research training in theoretical and applied economics. This Masters is co-accredited by the EHESS, the ENS-PSL, the Ecole des Ponts ParisTech and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and is certified by the Paris School of Economics.
APE at a glance
(2023-2024) Master 1: 91 students including 61,5 % of international students
(2023-2024) Master 2: 98 students including 50 % of international students
A Master for bachelor students in economics, mathematics
2-years research program: M1 - reinforcing fundamental knowledge and basic methodological tools; M2 - conducting a successful research project (direct entry in the second year possible)
Campus: Paris School of Economics, Jourdan Campus
Structure: M1 September - July; M2 September - September (master thesis defense possible in June or September)
Language: English
Credits: M1 60 ECTS; M2 120 ECTS (no degree only after the M1)
Wide range of courses: More than 50 courses to choose from within eight fields of specialization: applied public econ., demography & environment, econ. history, macro., micro., trade & dvpt
International openness: depending on the year, from 30 to 70% of the APE students come from a foreign institution and one third of the APE graduate students go abroad (for further studies or work positions)

After the APE master: possibility to continue with a PhD (PSE, LSE, Bocconi, Yale, MIT, Stanford, Berkeley) or to enter the labour market (95% employed within 3 months after their studies in non-academic positions: OECD, World Bank, HSBC, McKinsey, France Stratégie)
Degree awarded upon completion: Degree in Analysis and Policy in Economics
