Program of the Master Analysis and Policy in Economics

The Master Analysis and Policy in Economics is a comprehensive and rigorous 2-year research program, aimed at preparing you to excel in research and economic analysis.

First year of the master (M1)

The M1 focuses on strengthening the fundamental knowledge and basic methodological tools necessary for a thorough understanding of economics. You will study topics such as microeconomics, econometrics, macroeconomics and economic history in depth. This first year lays the foundations for the continuation of the program.

The M1 program offers:

  • 10 compulsory fundamental courses around different themes: microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, game theory, introduction to economic history, international economics;
  • 1 elective course from 6 courses in a specific field;
  • 1 social science seminar followed in another department of the EHESS, École nationale des ponts et chaussées, the ENS – PSL or the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University;
  • 60 ECTS.

Second year of the master (M2)

The goal of the M2 is to get you to have a first successful research experience. This year is structured to allow you to acquire specialized knowledge in various fields of contemporary research in economics.

You will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of advanced courses, allowing you to specialize in the areas that interest you most. At the same time, you will participate in a working seminar where you will present your first steps in the development of your research topic, and finally, write an original thesis.
