The professional approach
The MSc SIA offers the opportunity to acquire practical, concrete skills to complement the analytical and methodological foundations. The Capstone Project, carried out between October and April, enables students to apply the knowledge and skills developed throughout their training. The internship, lasting between 4 and 6 months, takes place during the last period of the academic year and represents a real immersion in the professional world. During this experience, students complete a research project in the form of a Master’s thesis, using the skills they have acquired, particularly in quantitative and analytical methods, to demonstrate their mastery of the tools and techniques learned during the program. The thesis is then presented to an academic jury.
The Capstone Project
The Capstone Project is a study carried out for a company or public organization as part of a consulting mandate. It gives students the opportunity to apply impact assessment methods to infrastructure projects or public policies in real-life situations. Working in groups in project mode, students are supervised by a teacher-researcher specialized in the field concerned. This experience enables them to deepen their professional expertise and develop their ability to carry out a complete impact assessment, culminating in the submission of a final report to the company at the end of the study.
The 4 to 6 month internship
The compulsory internship, lasting between 4 and 6 months, gives students the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired during the year, and to take their first steps in the professional world. Thanks to the support of the MSc SIA teaching and administrative team, students benefit from personalized advice in their search for an internship, as well as numerous seminars and professional forums that enable them to meet potential companies and recruiters directly. They also have access to ENPC and PSE alumni network to support them in their search.
