Denis Cogneau is a professor at the Paris School of economics and at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS), and senior research fellow at the French Research Institute for Sustainable Development, IRD. His past works deal with social and economic policies in Sub-Saharan Africa. His current research has to do with the political economy of colonialism, and the economic development of Africa over the long term.
